Registering for 10DLC phone numbers is a great way to boost your text message deliverability, but the registration process can take a bit of advance planning. Speed through the process by having these essentials ready. đđžââď¸
- Locate your EIN number, or apply for an EIN. đ
Youâll need a nine-digit employer identification number (EIN) from the IRS. If your org doesnât have an EIN, apply for one here – itâs fast and free!
- Use the organization name and address on your tax filings. đ
Youâll want to register with the same organization name and address thatâs on file with the IRS. If your organization name has changed, having the name change paperwork on hand will ensure smooth registration. If thereâs a mismatch between the organization name and address on your tax filings and what you submit, your 10DLC registration can experience delays.
- Activate your website or social media page. đ
Campaign Verify and The Campaign Registry (the groups that run the 10DLC registration process) want to make sure that your organization is a legitimate entity. To demonstrate this, youâll need an active website or social media page â a webform works too. Read more about how to set up a carrier-compliant online presence here.
- Political: find your public filing to register with Campaign Verify. đŚ
Political campaigns, parties, and PACs register with Campaign Verify to unlock the highest sending speeds available on 10DLC numbers. If this is you, youâll need the link to a public campaign filing.Â
- Federally registered committees: link to your entry on the FECâs website. For example, https://www.fec.gov/data/candidate/P80000722/

State, local, or tribal committees: link to the record on the website of your local election authority, i.e. the Secretary of Stateâs website, or the county or municipal governmentâs website.
Campaign Verify accepts as public filings: online campaign finance reports, election and committee listings, or election authority documentation that lists a campaign postal address, email address and/or phone number.
If youâre running in a municipality that doesn’t have online filing, reach out directly to [email protected], ccing [email protected], explaining the situation. Ideally, youâll also share a contact email/phone number at your local election authority – Campaign Verify will reach out to them and provide you with further instructions on how to register.
