It’s the final countdown to Election Day! With less than two weeks left until November 5, we at Scale to Win want to make sure our customers are ready for GOTV and Election Day.
This is our last major product update for Scale to Win Text this election cycle, and we are excited to share features to help make your organizing and fundraising run as smoothly as possible.
Our product release for October 2024 includes time-saving features to make your busy teams even more efficient:
Keyword autoresponders
What is it?
The keyword autoresponder feature empowers you to set up custom automated responses to recipients when they reply with the specific keywords of your choosing.
Imagine sending a text blast to potential volunteers, with an ask to “Reply VOLUNTEER” to get involved. With an autoresponder, they could be automatically sent a sign-up link immediately after replying “VOLUNTEER”.
Keyword autoresponders can complement the traditional process of volunteers manually sending replies. We recommend using the autoresponders to handle common, straightforward replies (like wrong number or MAGA), while saving texter time for more complex replies like undecided voters or more detailed issue questions.
This flexible feature allows you to customize the particular keywords that make the most sense for your campaign. The responses can be set up globally and imported into campaigns to speed up campaign setup. The keywords must be an exact match to work, so the autoresponder will not fire if the respondent misspelled the keyword or added extra words.
Setup: On the left menu, click Response Scripts, then click + Add response, fill out the information, then click the Add a Keyword button at the bottom to create a keyword trigger for this response. You can also add a keyword to your existing responses by editing the response and then clicking the add a keyword button at the bottom.
Note: You can have multiple keywords that vary by campaign. For example, VOLUNTEER in Campaign A could return one volunteer event RSVP link, while in Campaign B, it could return another.
How does it help you?
Efficiency and capacity management: Streamline your team’s workflow by letting the autoresponder handle repetitive or simple responses, freeing up texters to focus on more complex or personalized interactions.
Consistency and speed: The quick response can ensure recipients receive timely information, which is particularly critical during high-volume times.
Flexible: Keyword autoresponders can be used with any type of phone number (registered/10DLC, toll-free, short code), making it easy to manage your texting programs all in Scale to Win Text.
Customizable flows to continue the conversation: You can create a flow of communication that guides recipients through specific actions.
Some examples:
Volunteer ask
- “Reply SUPPORT if you support candidate X. Txt stop to opt out.”
- If the recipient replies with “SUPPORT,”
- “Thanks for being a supporter! Reply VOLUNTEER to learn more about volunteering opportunities.”
Vote tripler
- “Make your voice heard! It's Election Day! Txt stop to opt out. Reply VOTER if you've voted already.”
- If the recipient replies with VOTER
- “Incredible! This election is too important for us to leave the votes of our friends and family on the table. Can we count on you to ask 3 friends and family members to be voters? Reply TRIPLE if yes!
Tag stats visualization
What is it?
We’ve added a new section to your Scale to Win campaign dashboard that provides a quick visual look at the tags used in your campaign.
Setup: No setup is necessary! Just make sure you are using Tags in your campaign. Go to the results page of any active or finished campaign, then scroll down, and click on the tags section to see a breakdown of which tags were used. Check out our support article for more information on creating and using tags in Scale to Win Text.
Note: The tag stats reflect Tags used in both Response Scripts and Manual Tags (when you might not send a response at all).
How does it help you?
Tag stat visualizations give busy organizers and fundraisers a visual representation of how different segments of your audience are engaging with your campaign. For example, you can quickly see at a high level your breakdown by percentage of Strong Support, Lean Support, and Undecided voters.
Customizable opt-out language
What is it?
This new feature allows you to customize the language your contact receives after texting an opt out message. If a texting respondent replies to a message with STOP or another common opt-out phrase, Scale to Win Text will reply automatically with your custom message confirming the opt out and letting them know they will not be texted again. For a complete list of the opt-out words check out our support article.
Example message: “[Your Org Name]: You've been unsubscribed and will not be sent any further messages.”
Setup: Set up the feature in Settings. You can also customize the opt-out message for your organization.
Note: Customers are charged for these automatic responses.
How does it help you?
With this feature, you can customize your opt-out language to match your organization’s tone of voice, or convey custom opt out information as necessary.
